Emmaus is a lay retreat for laity that lasts 3 days, it is a time to detach from the routine of daily life. It is a time to listen to God in silence is an intimate encounter with Jesus Christ. It is an experience where men come together to minister to other men, where they renew and deepen their relationship with the Lord. It is a moment of personal growth. Today Emmaus men of Santísima Trinidad have made 11 retreats, from which servants have emerged who today serve in our parish. Emmaus is a bridge to join other ministries in our parish.
The first Emmaus retreat was held in the Archdiocese of Miami in 1978, a retreat for women in English. This retreat is based on the Gospel according to Saint Luke chapter 24, verses 13-35 that tells about the disciples on the way to Emmaus. Due to the success of these retreats the first retreat for men was held in February 1986 and was also in English. And although the retreat began in English, it had a good impact on the Hispanic Catholic population of the United States and in September 1991 the first Emmaus retreat for men in Spanish was held in Miami Florida.
In 2002, thanks to the intervention of Father Rafael Rodrigues and Father Javier Bustos and with the help of the Miami parish, the first Emmaus retreat was held in Wisconsin in the city of Sheboygan and later in Kenosha. Thereafter the first retreat in Illinois was held in Mundelein and then Round Lake. And in 2012, with the help of Round Lake and other communities, the first Emmaus retreat was held in Waukegan. Today these retreats are held in other parts of the world. Like Mexico, Colombia, Spain, China and some other countries in the world.

Emaús es un retiro para laicos que dura 3 días, es un tiempo para desprenderse de la rutina de la vida diaria. Es un tiempo para escuchar a Dios en silencio es un encuentro íntimo con Jesucristo. Es una experiencia donde los hombres se reúnen para servir a otros hombres, donde renuevan y profundizan su relación con el Señor. Es un momento de crecimiento personal. Hoy en día los hombres Emaús de Santísima Trinidad han realizado 11 retiros, de los cuales han surgido servidores que hoy en día están en nuestra parroquia. Emaús es un puente para unirse a otros ministerios de nuestra parroquia.
El primer retiro de Emaús se celebró en la Archidiócesis de Miami en 1978, un retiro para mujeres en inglés. Este retiro está basado en el Evangelio según San Lucas capítulo 24, versículos 13-35 que relata sobre los discípulos camino a Emaús. Debido al éxito de estos retiros, en febrero de 1986 se celebró el primer retiro para hombres, también en inglés. Y aunque el retiro comenzó en inglés, tuvo un buen impacto en la población católica hispana de Estados Unidos y en septiembre de 1991 se celebró en Miami Florida el primer retiro Emaús para hombres en español.
En 2002, gracias a la intervención del Padre Rafael Rodrigues y del Padre Javier Bustos y con la ayuda de la parroquia de Miami, se celebró el primer retiro de Emaús en Wisconsin, en la ciudad de Sheboygan y más tarde en Kenosha.
